FAQ's

  • Is there internet?

    • Yes!  We offer wireless internet.​  Our internet is not unlimited data like many of us are used in urban areas.  However, we find that most of our guests only need internet to send emails, post to social media and surf the web.  We do have a monitoring system of data usage and will reach out if your party seems to be using large amounts of data.  If you expect to need to utilize the internet for work, video calls, streaming services such as Netflix, online gaming, please let us know.  These types of usage tend to consume gigabytes of data quickly and our monitoring service may block devices without prior agreements of usage.  

  • Can I check in before 4:00 PM?​

    • It depends on our reservation and cleaning schedules.  Please inquire with us before your arrival date/time.​

  • Can I check out after 11:00 AM?​

    • It depends on our reservation and cleaning schedules.  Please inquire with us before your departure date/time.​

  • Is there a local grocery store?​

    • Yes, the Shelter Cove General Store is a few miles from the house and offers a good selection of items to supplement what you forgot to bring or need more of.  Otherwise, there are two grocery stores in Redway/Garberville.​

  • Can I bring my pet?​

    • Unfortunately, we do not accept pets at the house.  This does not mean the house has been pet free for those with allergies.

  • Can I have my wedding or other party event at the Seadance?​

    • Please inquire with us before booking your stay.  We have strict guidelines in our rental agreement about occupancy and parties and it is best to inquire first rather than to hope for forgiveness later.​

  • How do I pay for my reservation?​

    • We accept cash, check and credit card.  Our reservation system will direct you through the payment process where you can select the method of payment you prefer and any pertinent instructions for the chosen payment method.​

  • What happens if I break something?​

    • We hope this never happens, but sometimes it just does and it's never a good feeling.  We collect a security deposit prior to your arrival that should ​cover any damage that might crop up.  It's best to let us know immediately rather than waiting for us to discover whatever it is.   Some examples are:  broken window, soiled linens/towels that cannot be cleaned, markers used on walls/furniture, broken pool sticks, etc.  

  • What do I need to bring?​

    • What we provide or is normally at the house:  The house is fully furnished, including linens and kitchen items.  We also provide paper towels, sponge, TP, cleaning supplies, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, dish soap, hand soap, coffee filters​.  We try to keep salt, pepper, olive oil, flour and sugar, plastic bags, plastic wrap, tin foil on hand but do not guarantee those will be in stock.  Additionally, there is a good collection of games, teas and spices we have provided and also left by previous guests. 

    • You should bring all your food, toiletries & clothing and be ready to relax and watch the waves roll in, the birds fly by and hopefully, some whales (or whale spouts) pass by.

  • Do you have TV channels?​

    • We don't have cable or satellite service. ​ We do have Netflix and Prime Video. We also have a large collection of DVD/VHS.  If you expect to spend hours streaming video, please let us know immediately to avoid any issues with our service provider.  Large quantities of data consumption can trigger safety blocks on devices.  We have found the majority of our guests are getting away from their normal live and not watching TV is part of their escape.

  • How do I use the Wolf Induction Cooktop?​

  • Do you have a wait list?​

    • Yes, we do.  If your dates are not available, please send us an inquiry with the dates you'd like should they open up.​

  • I see you are on VRBO and AirBnB what is the benefit of reserving directly with you?​

    • Where you choose to reserve your reservation with us may affect how much you pay.  ​The listings sites (Vrbo/AirBnB) charge fees to you, and us, for reservations through their sites.  If you reserve through us, typically you are saving $100+ in their fees on your reservation.  But it's up to you and what you are most comfortable with.

    • We value repeat guests who have proven to be respectful to the house and us previously. If you are a returning guest, please reserve with us directly and let us know you are a returning guest.
